A FEW FACTS ABOUT THE PLACE WHERE THE EVENT WILL BE HAPPENING

The International Festival of Animated Film BALKANIMA 2004, will be convened in a newer part of the city of Belgrade, on the left bank of the Sava River, in the building complex belonging to the Cultural Center Studentski Grad.
The Cultural Center Studentski Grad is famous for its diversity, range, volume of activities and levels of achievement of realized programs and represents one of the leading cultural institutions in the country.
Over three hundred thousand students and citizens of Belgrade participate and attend the various programs of the Cultural Center annually.
Within the Cultural Center Studentski Grad there also functions the ACADEMIC FILM CENTER that is a co-founder of the BALKANIMA 2004 Festival and has its own film and video production. The AFC is at the forefront of cinematographic creativity in Serbia & Montenegro and it is a Cinematographer’s Club that has received the greatest number of awards, both in relation to the individual achievement of its authors and in comparison with other film clubs in the country. This Center develops its activities through diverse forms (production of author’s films and video works, education of youth through film schools and workshops, publication of professional literature, promotion of alternative films and video art).
The Cultural Center Studentski Grad has at its disposal a large number of halls and projection rooms for film and video screenings, workshop premises and facilities, exhibitions spaces, an open-air summer stage, library, filmotheque, bookshop, etc.
Guest appearances of authors, master class workshops and individual retrospectives will also be held at art colleges belonging to the University of Arts of the capital cities of Serbia & Montenegro, as well as in other parts of the city of Belgrade.
This ancient city, which is over two thousand years old, is full of cultural and historical monuments, parks, and it also has an attractive Medieval Fortress with a splendid view of the largest European river, the Danube.
The Cultural Center is linked to the center of Belgrade by numerous city buses reaching their respective destinations within 15 to 20 minutes.
