Official decisions of International jury for main competition program Balkanima 2011
The Main competition program jury, consisting of Natalia Dabizha, Alexey Alexeev and Rastko Ćirić made the following decisions:
The Festival Grand Prix "Novi Beograd" goes to the film "The origin of creatures" by Floris Kaayk from the Netherlands. The award consists of a diploma, the"Lepenac" trophy and money prize of a total of 130.000 dinars.
The Award for the Best film of South-Eastern Europe goes to the film "Kiyamet" by Ivan Ramadan from Bosnia and Herzegovina. The award consists of a diploma, the "Lepenac" trophy and money prize of a total of 100.000 dinars.
Special Awards go to the following films:
Film "The Trash" by Marina Moshkova from Russia, for the best film dealing with the issue of ecology
Film "Mask" by Quay Brothers from Poland, for the work of mastery
Film "Dove sei, amor mio" by Veljko Popović from Croatia, for the most emotional work
Film "Sergei Prokofiev. The fourth orange" by Julia Titova from Belarus, forcontribution to culture
Film "Norwegian shorts with no endings- The Manifesto edition" by Rune Eriksson from Norway, for the wittiest film of the festival
Official decisions of international jury for student competition program balkanima 2011
The International student competition program jury, consisting of Dejan Dabić, president, and members Jana Ondikova and Nikola Đurić, unanimously made the following decisions:
The Best Film Award of the Student Competition Program goes on an equal footing (ex aequo) to two films "The Gallery" by Robert Proch from Poland and "One more time!" by a group of authors from Russia. The award consists of a diploma, the "Lepenac" trophy and money prize of a total of 70.000 dinars. The award will be divided into two equal parts.
Special Awards go to the following films: "Adaptation" by Petya Zlateva from Bulgaria – for the concept; "Adveniat regnum meum" by Stefanie Katja Ernst from Germany – for artistic courage; and "Bridge" by Dina Velikovskaya from Russia – for combining animation techniques in creating atmosphere.
The Zoptic Award goes the film "The Mirror" by Ivan StojkoviĆ from Serbia for achieved balance in employing animation film techniques together with dramatic practices of cinema.
The SAE Institute Belgrade Award goes to the film "Life in a Frame" by Marica KicuŠiĆ from Serbia for research efforts in using various animation techniques for conjuring new auteur ideas.
The Best School Award goes to the Experimental Cinematography Centre from Italy for consistent selection and quality of the films on the festival.
Unofficial awards
Award "Hedgehog Thorn" of satirical newspaper Trimmed Hedgehog goes to the film "Flamingo Pride" by Tomer Eshed from Germany.
Award of ASIFA Serbia goes to the film "Rare Species" by Svetlana Tugaybey from Russia.
