Transmedial storytelling, Pavle Zelić
Transmedia storytelling: from bonfire to digital animation
The concept of traditional storytelling in the modern age with endless media and channels of communication goes through its final transformation which is both commercially justified and artistically exciting. Namely, an initial form of presenting the basic plot can be complemented not just through a simple adaptation of a novel into a film or a comic book into a video game but also in a mutual complementation of those different creations under the same unifying title/brand and the building of imaginary worlds into which their fans can virtually escape forever. A lecturer, theoretician of pop culture, writer and screenwriter Pavle Zelic will use the examples of transformation of his own works in the field of film, comic books and literature, as well as the analyses of prominent and globally popular sagas and universes, to present the essence of transmedia storytelling, its usefulness to the authors of animated films, and how interesting it is for the festival audience.
