Animated documentary from the festival Rising of Lusitania – AnimaDoc

The history of animated documentary (animadoc) started 100 years ago, along with the premiere of Winsor McCay’s propaganda movie The Sinking of the Lusitania (1918). Since that time, in every decade, we have examples of what for some is still controversial, and for the other – inspiring and very fascinating – the combination of the seemingly contradictory terms: animation and documentary. In recent years, animadoc has become very popular, which can be confirmed by the emergence of a festival dedicated exclusively to this genre: Rising of Lusitania – AnimaDoc Film Festival. The first edition was held in Liverpool, Feb. 01-03, 2019. The program will feature selected movies from this festival.
