BALKANIMA 2008
Awards

TROPHY Best film of South East Europe -
trophy, diploma and 800 EUR cash prize
COURT RECORD – IN MEMORIAM PETER MANSFELD, Zoltan Szilagyi Varga, Hungary
Court record is about the anatomy of terror. It is based on a real story that is unusual in animated films. After the revolution in 1956 a young revolutionary was arrested, they kept him in the prison and he was executed on his 18th birthday. We appriciate in this film its historical research, the atmosphere well described, and its irrepetitive and strong animation.

GRAND PRIX – trophy, diploma and 1000 EUR cash prize
SHE WHO MEASURES, Veljko Popovic, Croatia
An original criticism against the world marketing and mass media, in a very innovative conception and animation technique, which shows that the technological concept yet exists and still comes more agressive.

DIPLOMAS - categories:

Up to 5 min
JEU, Georges Swizgebel, Switzerland
Fresh and colorful animation, playful game with forms and color.

5 – 30 min
TOGETHER, Kalina Detcheva,Bulgaria
FANTASMAGORIE 2008, Rastko Ciric, Serbia

These two films, although different, speak about the realtions between us. Rastko Ciric makes a reminiscence of the first animated film and builds it up with 3D, and Kalina Detcheva plays with the shadows with nice music.

Children film
MAGIC STORE, Elena Petkevich, Belarus

Real film for the public.

ANIMATOU, Claude Luyet, Switzerland
Emblematic animated film about the animation. Fresh self-reflection with the well-known old characters from the historical origin till the moving images of today or even tomorow.

BETON, Ariel Belinco, Michael Faust, Israel
This film is about the Big Wall that is a metaphore and a real object at the same time. It wants to show the paradoxy of military points of view – with excellent animation and exact pictures.
